Mommy & Daughter morning!

I LOVE this girl!

Norah and I spent a perfect mommy daughter morning together! We headed to target, then to Starbucks, I think it's so cute to see her little hand wrapped around a Starbucks cup full of hot cocoa. Then we made our way to the farmers market where she played a little with her friend, colored, and cuddled with momma while I sat at her preschool's booth. After we put our time in at the booth we perused the market for the best fruits and veggies(most of which she still won't eat). She will however eat the mini donuts covered in cinnamon sugar that I let her get, they're tasty! I love getting to spend alone time with her, it doesn't happen often but when it does I
LOVE it!

We had lots of fun this weekend at Casey's parents house. We drove down on Friday when Casey got home from work, had a quick dinner and some visiting and headed to bed. Saturday Casey, his dad and his cousin drove to Mt. St Helens and scouted out a possible hike to Castle lake on Sunday. While they were gone his mom and I took the kids and another one of Casey's cousins to the Portland Zoo. I have a few pictures from the zoo but my batery ran out not long after we got there :-( We had so much fun there. It was pretty crowded but the kids enjoyed it! We saw lots of fun animals, had good food and walked and walked. I think between the 2 kids I spent at least an hour carrying them. We decided to skip the hike on Sunday because it would have taken up the majority of the day, but Casey and I decided to take his Dad's canoe out instead. His parents live on the Lewis River, and his dad said we should have no problem paddling back up stream so that was our plan. We headed down river and were having a great time, we decided to start heading back and weren't having any problems going upstream.....at first. Once we were in sight of the house the current started to pick up and the wind pushed us sideways and we tipped over! Yikes, that water is cold. We got the canoe back up and walked it past their house then were able to get almost to shore just as we were almost there we tipped again :-( It was still fun even though we were soaking wet and cold. We decided next time we would take it to a lake :-)

Birthday Camping

Happy Birthday to my fabulous hubby I love you!!!!
T
his past weekend we took our first camping trip of the summer to the Satsop River. My aunt and uncle have a 5 acre chunk of property there right on the river, so it makes for great camping! It's becoming a tradition to go there over Casey's birthday weekend, and overall it was a great trip, the weather could have been a little better but the sun did manage to show itself on Sunday! We had a great time with our family and friends and kept busy chasing around little ones, hunting for frogs, hiking up the river, making yummy smores and hot dogs, crashing Satsopaloosa, opening birthday presents, enjoying yumyy pie brought down by Casey's mom and much more. Thanks to our friends and family for coming with us to help celebrate Casey's birthday and for making it a fun weekend :)

Here are a couple pictures of the scenery from camping, there were frogs everywhere and Norah became quite good at catching them. The river is beautiful with lots of mossy rocks and plants lining the banks. We just love it there!
